Consultancy Projects
1. Long terms projects have included acting as;
Arbitration Manager for a UK commodity company in resolving numerous commodity and maritime disputes that an ex director had caused.
Vessel Timecharter Manager for the UK subsidiary of a major Malaysian palm oil trader, moving palm oil from the Far East to Europe. Dealing with all aspects of time charter management, instructions to master, agents, bunker supply, cargo rotation.
Claims adviser to a European soft commodity trader dealing with trade and maritime disputes.
2. Currently retained to act as the Arbitration manager for a USA based commodity company and a Moldovan based grain trader as and when disputes arise.
3. For the last five years has acted as adviser to the UK office of a Nigerian based group dealing with procurement of wheat and other materials for 2 x 500 tons per day flour mills situated in Lagos & Kano. Instrumental in dealing with procurement and logistics of all flour milling equipment for the mills. Currently following wheat markets on a daily basis. Time chartering handy size bulkers on a monthly basis.
Similarly involved in the procurement of equipment and personnel for a 2000 ton per day sugar refinery for the same client. This is the 2nd largest refinery in sub Saharan Africa.
Conducted feasibility studies into and involved in purchasing and arranging delivery of a coastal tanker and floating cement terminal to Nigeria.
4. Act on an ad hoc basis for other commodity trading companies as required.
5. Lecture for both Gafta and Fosfa on their residential training courses.
